About The Position

Finning is seeking Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics (Red Seal preferred) to join their team in Williams Lake. The role involves the troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of Caterpillar general line, forestry, and mining equipment. Requirements

  • Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Heavy Duty Technician
  • Dedication to safety
  • Strong experience with Transmissions and Hydraulic Testing is required
  • Clean Drivers’ Abstract (5 Years)
  • Ability to obtain Site Access (may include Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing and ability to wear a respirator)

Nice To Haves

  • Red Seal endorsement
  • Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems
  • Engine and/or Component rebuilding experience
  • Transmission or Hydraulic testing
  • Previous Gas Engine and Power Generation experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Understanding of the Caterpillar product line

Responsibilities

  • Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs
  • Interface with customers, products and sales support
  • Working with the Supervisor on various tasks
  • Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
  • Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
  • Various related duties as required
