About The Position

Shermco Canada is seeking a skilled and safety-driven Electrician to join their Electrical Field Services team in Vancouver. This permanent, full-time role offers the opportunity to work with industry experts, delivering critical electrical construction, maintenance, and specialty services across essential Canadian industries such as utilities, mining, oil & gas, and advanced technology facilities. The position involves supporting complex power systems ranging from 24V to 230kV, contributing to projects that power modern infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Red Seal Interprovincial Journeyperson Electrician Certificate (required)
  • Experience working in industrial and/or commercial electrical environments
  • Industrial safety training and certifications
  • Experience working around medium- and high-voltage systems
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and professional standards
  • Strong communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
  • Willingness to travel for out-of-town projects as required

Responsibilities

  • Construct, modify, repair, and test industrial electrical systems and components in demanding environments.
  • Install, commission, and maintain low, medium, and high-voltage electrical equipment in industrial settings.
  • Safely work around energized power and control systems, adhering to established safety standards and procedures.
  • Mentor and guide apprentice electricians, fostering skill development and safe work practices.
  • Select appropriate materials and ensure installations comply with the Canadian Electrical Code and project specifications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, inspections, and equipment servicing.
  • Participate in Shermco’s Positive Safety Reporting program and support client field audits.
  • Adhere to Shermco’s Health, Safety, Personnel, and Drug & Alcohol policies at all times.
  • Perform additional duties within your training and qualifications as required to support project success.
