Requirements

  • Red Seal certification required
  • Must be able to pass a criminal record and vulnerable sector check
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to lead a team
  • Ability to read building specifications and blueprints
  • Mathematical skills
  • The care and effort required to maintain quality workmanship, minimize deficiencies and maintain Penn-co’s reputation in the industry
  • An understanding of safe work practices
  • Experience working in or with Indigenous communities; cultural awareness and respect are essential
  • Must be willing and able to travel to remote project locations

Responsibilities

  • Build and/or assemble concrete forms and place concrete using rakes, screeds, and trowels
  • Framing, including walls, doors, and windows
  • Exterior finishing including siding, fascia, and soffit
  • Place and tie rebar
  • Operate hand and power tools
  • Lead and mentor co-workers
  • All other carpentry duties as required and assigned by supervisor
