About The Position
The Journeyman installs and maintains low-sloped roof systems and membranes, including TPO, PVC, BUR, modified bitumen, and EPDM. The role involves following manufacturer installation instructions, warranty specifications, company safety standards, job specifications, and quality standards. Journeymen prepare client reports using a tablet and support the Foreman with crew communication, training, and direction as needed. The position is full-time and located in Topeka, Kansas, with compensation of $20.00–$29.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
- Ability to operate handheld technology such as tablets and/or smartphones.
Nice To Haves
- Prior roofing or related trade experience is preferred but not required.
- Three or more years of experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Install and maintain low-sloped roof systems, including TPO, PVC, BUR, modified bitumen, and EPDM.
- Operate tools and equipment, including a Leister welder and hot air gun.
- Follow job specifications, manufacturer installation instructions, warranty requirements, safety guidelines, and quality standards.
- Create client reports using a tablet and use technology for communication and receipts.
- Support the Foreman with communication, training, and directing crew members as needed.
