About The Position

Performs routine inspections and preventive maintenance to MARTA's specialized track vehicles and equipment. Troubleshoots, repairs and replaces mechanical units or components as required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Five years' experience in troubleshooting and repairing specialized maintenance-of-way track vehicles and equipment, consisting of complex, diesel-powered, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Demonstrated skills and ability with a variety of tools required in maintenance, repair and mechanical unit replacement for track vehicles and equipment.
Ability to read and comprehend electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic system schematics.
Valid Georgia Driver's License
Must possess basic tools (standard and metric) to perform preventive maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoots and makes repairs to diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Performs preventive maintenance to diesel locomotives, specialized track vehicles and equipment.
Recovers downed maintenance vehicles from track in a timely manner in order to avoid disruption of revenue service.
Performs welding, fabrication, body repair, unit replacement and overhaul of equipment.
Uses a variety of tools, including hand tools, impact wrenches, drills, compressors and/or other tools as assigned.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
