This opportunity resides with Warfare Systems (WS), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Warfare Systems comprises cyber and mission IT; electronic warfare; and C5ISR systems. This role supports a multi-national initiative that connects existing national Secret networks and services to enhance information-sharing capabilities among Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The System Engineer manages, patches, implements, and optimizes Nutanix, Active Directory, Microsoft technologies, VMware, and storage infrastructure. This role leverages expertise to deliver a secure, fault-tolerant, scalable, and flexible hyper-converged infrastructure to support real-world operations. The Engineer will also troubleshoot issues related to the specified technologies and backup systems, coordinating implementations with internal staff and vendor personnel.

Requirements

  • 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
  • Applicable industry certifications for Microsoft or Linux
  • Must have an Active Secret Security Clearance
  • US Citizen
  • 3+ years of Nutanix, Active Directory, Microsoft, VMware, and storage infrastructure experience.
  • Sec+ (CE)

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive experience working with Windows Servers.
  • Experience with Active Directory Suite, DNS, and Group Policy.
  • Experience patching and STIGing Windows and Linux servers.
  • Experience working in or for the military.
  • Expertise in Multi-national Combatant Command-level military exercises, coalition networking supporting military operations, and/or Mission Partner Environments, such as

Responsibilities

  • Support, install, maintain, and troubleshoot Nutanix, Active Directory, Microsoft, VMware, and storage infrastructure issues.
  • Collaborate with vendors to diagnose and resolve outages effectively.
  • Ensure hardware and software are maintained at appropriate patch levels.
  • Perform STIG validation, implementation, and remediation.
  • Monitor infrastructure for failures and performance issues.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical architecture documentation for the infrastructure.
  • Recommend hardware upgrades and coordinate installation activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to fulfill project requirements related to Nutanix, Active Directory, Microsoft, VMware, and storage infrastructure.
  • Support the implementation of security policies, practices, and guidelines for the infrastructure.
  • Test and install new software versions as needed, ensuring compliance with secure enclave requirements and following industry best practices.
