About The Position

This role involves performing stress relief operations in industrial construction. The technician will be responsible for setting up and operating stress relief equipment, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring precise temperature control for preheat and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT). The position requires strong practical skills in construction, including rigging, tool usage, and the ability to interpret technical drawings.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in industrial construction as a journeyman stress relief technician.
• Knowledge of basic stress equipment and recorders.
• Capability of troubleshooting and fixing problems that arise from stress equipment to work piece.
• Basic rigging skills.
• Ability to formulate the diameter pipe and pads needed to wrap for preheat and pwht to make specific temperatures.
• Proficient in the use of small power tools (i.e. die grinder, right angle grinder).
• Able to read and comprehend piping isometric drawings.
• Capable of efficiently planning work.
• Proficient in pipe lay-out.
• Able to read and comprehend support details / drawings.
• Must be able to safely traverse uneven terrain with tools and building materials.
• Must be able to climb vertical ladders and work from heights as necessary.
• Must be punctual and maintain a dependable level of attendance in accordance to project work rules.

• Able to read piping & instrument diagrams.

Responsibilities
