About The Position

E&M Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Journeyman Software Developer to join their team in Dahlgren, VA, to support the Joint Warfare Analysis Center (JWAC). JWAC provides critical engineering and scientific analysis to military commanders and government officials, supporting national security strategy by analyzing complex problems using intelligence community data. The role involves modernizing systems through agile software development, problem-solving, maintenance, and support. The developer will apply specific functional and general industry knowledge, with experience in DevSecOps from both OS and software development perspectives. This position contributes to solutions for moderately complex problems, allowing for independent work with occasional guidance and potential review of junior employees' activities. The focus is on building complete solutions using both back-end and front-end languages.

Requirements

1+ years of experience working on software development teams
1+ years of experience with scripting and/or programming, including Python, PowerShell, Bash, Go, C#, or Java
1+ years of experience with version control systems
Experience with system automation via PowerShell, Ansible, or Bash
Experience with deploying applications and CI/CD tools, including GitLab
Experience with application containerization
Knowledge of programming fundamentals, concepts, and language mechanics
HS diploma or GED
Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 IAT II Certification, including Security+, within 30 days of start date
Must be a US Citizen
Must have and be able to maintain a Department of Defense (DOD) Security clearance at the appropriate level.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Containers, including Docker, Kubernetes, or Rancher
Experience with AWS or Azure Cloud
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
Knowledge of both Linux and Windows Administration a plus.
