About The Position

We are seeking a Sheet Metal Journeyman to become an integral part of our team! Seeking mechanically inclined individuals with familiarity of construction looking to further their career in a commercial/industrial setting. This role requires the individual to run or work under long-term projects which can include: Installation, repair, and diagnostics of complex commercial/industrial HVAC systems, utilize knowledge of working characteristics or metallic and non-metallic materials, machining and lay-out technique, and ensure strict compliance with safety and building codes. Requirements

  • Ability to understand directions and proficient in reading blueprints
  • Ability to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately
  • Ability to properly care for and use tools of the trade
  • Works well independently or as part of a team
  • Time-Management abilities
  • Understanding of long-term project management
  • High School Degree or Equivalent
  • Journeyman Card Holder
  • At least 10 years of experience via on-the-job training required
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret blueprints using English language
  • Ability to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints
  • Ability to work individually or as a team to complete projects
  • Prolonged periods standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling
  • Must be comfortable and able to safely work with sharp tools and power equipment
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains
  • Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Subject to variable weather conditions inside and outside of buildings
  • Ability to work at various heights that can be several floors high

Responsibilities

  • Designing complex commercial/industrial HVAC systems
  • On-site installation of complex systems or managing installations
  • Problem solving design challenges on-site
  • Reading and interpreting complex blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications to determine project layouts
  • Supervision and mentoring of apprentices on best practices
  • Service and repair over long-term contracts
  • Coordinating schedules; Ensuring schedules are maintained and delays are properly communicated to customer
  • Travel to job sites in service area
  • Ability to work without supervision or independently in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time
  • Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed customer expectations
  • Quality control and complying with company safety regulations and upholding HVAC industry standards
