About The Position

CACI is currently seeking a Journeyman Scientists and Science Technician II in support of a program whose initiative is aimed at combating evolving and emerging threats, supporting related exploitation and replication activities, and advancing operational rehearsal, exercise, wargaming, and counter system development. Additionally, we are focusing on integration and experimentation, including Modeling and Simulation. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Physics or a closely related field is often required for research-intensive roles.
  • 3 years’ experience
  • 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Understanding of physical phenomena and ability to apply physics principles to practical applications
  • Experience with modeling and simulation tools and methodologies
  • Ability to conduct research, develop theories, and devise methods to apply physical laws
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficiency with technical documentation and reporting
  • Active Secret clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (SysML, UAFML)
  • Familiarity with LVC simulation environments such as JTLS-GO, OneSAF, JSAF, WARSIM, or similar tools
  • Knowledge of systems engineering processes in accordance with IEEE 15288 standards
  • Experience supporting DoD or Army programs and exercises
  • Understanding of verification, validation, and accreditation (VV&A) processes
  • Experience with data science, AI/ML applications to simulation data
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in multi-organizational environments
  • Experience working in INDOPACOM or other Combatant Command contexts

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research into physical phenomena and develop theories based on observation and experiments
  • Apply physical laws and theories to support modeling and simulation requirements for weapon systems development
  • Provide technical expertise in support of Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) simulation environments
  • Support systems engineering activities across all phases of the acquisition lifecycle for aviation, ground, missile, space, sea, and soldier weapon systems
  • Perform data engineering and advanced analytics on simulation data, including application of AI/ML techniques
  • Develop and evaluate simulation models to support training exercises, analysis, and system validation
  • Support Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) initiatives and digital transformation efforts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including government partners, contractors, and system developers
  • Participate in exercise planning, execution, and post-event analysis for Joint and Coalition training events
  • Apply systems engineering principles to evaluate integrated systems for multi-domain operations
