About The Position

Turner Industries Group is seeking Journeyman Scaffold Builders for maintenance and nested capital work in Bay City, TX. This is a non-exempt role where the employee performs a variety of routine duties within established policies. The schedule is 5-10's, subject to change. A background, health/drug screen is required. Candidates must be able to pass a craft test and safety council courses in English. There is no per diem or relocation assistance for these positions; successful candidates will be local.

Requirements

• 4 years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
• Written pre-employment qualification test
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
• Hazard Communication orientation/test
• Turner Industries Group, LLC indoctrination
• OSHA approved corrective eyewear (Z87)
• Job site orientation
• Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
• Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
• Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace

Responsibilities

• Assembles, positions, and dismantles scaffolding to job specifications.
• Inspects surfaces for holes, objects, and levelness.
• Assembles scaffold consisting of guardrails, mid-rails, braces, planks, toe boards, screens, and wheels.
• Positions scaffold by rolling it into place.
• Secures scaffold to permanent structure by tying.
