About The Position

Upchurch is seeking a skilled and licensed Journeyman Plumber with experience in commercial mechanical construction projects. The role involves installing, assembling, and repairing plumbing systems in commercial buildings, including schools, hospitals, offices, and industrial facilities. The plumber will work with general contractors, other trades, and supervisors to coordinate work, and may mentor and guide apprentices when applicable.

Requirements

• Valid state-specific Journeyman Plumbing License.
• Minimum 4–5 years of commercial plumbing experience.
• Proficiency with commercial piping systems, including PVC, copper, cast iron, and PEX.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
• Strong understanding of job site safety and compliance.
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials, climb ladders, and work in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Install, inspect, and test plumbing systems, including water, gas, drainage, and vent piping.
• Set fixtures such as sinks, toilets, water heaters, and pumps.
• Ensure all work meets local plumbing codes and company standards.
• Collaborate with general contractors, other trades, and supervisors to coordinate work.
• Adhere to safety procedures and OSHA guidelines on job sites.
• Perform troubleshooting and repairs as needed.
• Mentor and guide apprentices when applicable.
