About The Position

The Journeyman Plumber is responsible for independently installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role ensures all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable plumbing codes, company standards, and customer expectations. The Journeyman Plumber may also provide guidance and on-the-job training to Plumber Apprentices as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid Journeyman Plumber license in applicable jurisdiction(s)
• Strong working knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and installation techniques
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and technical drawings
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to meet union hiring hall and dispatch requirements
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening (if applicable)

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, maintain, and replace plumbing systems including water supply, gas lines, drainage
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications, and work orders
• Diagnose plumbing issues and determine appropriate repair solutions
• Ensure all work complies with local and state plumbing codes, OSHA standards, and company policies
• Operate, maintain, and properly use plumbing tools, equipment, and materials
• Coordinate with supervisors, project managers, contractors, and customers to ensure timely and high-quality project completion
• Mentor and support Plumber Apprentices by providing instruction and oversight as assigned
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites
• Accurately document work performed, materials used, and time worked when required
• Represent Altstadt Hoffman Plumbing professionally at all job sites
