About The Position

Grant Mechanical of Traverse City, Michigan, is growing! We are seeking a Journeyman Plumber Installer for New Construction to install plumbing equipment and fixtures in both residential and commercial applications. This job involves a specialized focus as a New Construction Plumbing Journeyman, meaning you will be primarily responsible for installing water supply, drainage, venting, and gas systems in newly built buildings. Your work will include the complete installation of a wide variety of fixtures and units, such as water heaters, toilets, sinks, and tub or shower enclosures, along with assembling and laying out their key components like rough-in valves, copper or PEX supply lines, and PVC drain pipes according to blueprints. You'll also handle the integration of these new systems, which includes installing related equipment like water softeners, filtration systems, and sump pumps, ensuring the entire plumbing infrastructure functions as a seamless, code-compliant, and high-performance unit.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 years’ experience with current plumbing fixtures & equipment, including light commercial
  • Hold a valid driver license.
  • Maintain an insurable driving record.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Able to communicate with customers.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces & in all types of weather.

Responsibilities

  • Install plumbing equipment and fixtures in both residential and commercial applications.
  • Install water supply, drainage, venting, and gas systems in newly built buildings.
  • Complete installation of a wide variety of fixtures and units, such as water heaters, toilets, sinks, and tub or shower enclosures.
