About The Position

The Journeyman Plumber, Facility Services, plays a vital role in maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities by performing routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs. The Facility Services team plays a vital role in maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of Walmart facilities. This team performs routine preventive maintenance, inspects and repairs equipment, and responds promptly to facility needs. Members utilize multiple craft skills, including plumbing, to ensure operational excellence. They collaborate closely with management and contractors to uphold quality and safety standards. The team supports continuous improvement by identifying repair needs and implementing effective solutions. Commitment to compliance, safety, and integrity is central to their work, ensuring a reliable environment for associates and customers alike.

Requirements

• Proven experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on plumbing systems within facility environments.
• Ability to diagnose issues using blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs effectively.
• Skilled in operating hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Strong documentation skills for maintenance activities, work orders, and warranty claims.
• Capability to respond promptly to emergency calls and participate in on-call rotations.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with management, contractors, and coworkers.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• 2 years’ experience in the plumbing trade.
• Licensed Journeyman Plumber or equivalent in good standing in the state of work.
• License in related trade in city and/or state of work.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical trade program
• Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on plumbing systems and related facility equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
• Inspect, diagnose, and document facility conditions, identifying repair or replacement needs and recommending solutions.
• Utilize hand and power tools to dismantle, repair, and reassemble plumbing fixtures and equipment following established guidelines.
• Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor coordination, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and participate in on-call rotations as required.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and expenses.
• Adhere to OSHA, EPA, and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
