About The Position
Allmed Staffing is hiring 10 Journeyman Pipefitters to support a facilities maintenance contract at the North Texas VA Medical Center in Dallas. This role involves working alongside VA maintenance staff installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing, steam, gas, and medical facility systems. The work is assigned by a foreman and carried out independently, with potential to supervise helpers. This is a defined assignment with a government client.
Requirements
- Active Texas Plumber/Pipefitter license
- Minimum 4 years of journeyman-level pipefitting experience
- OSHA certification
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings
- Physical ability to stand, bend, and work in cramped or confined spaces for extended periods
- Ability to pass a background investigation (required for VA facility access)
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing, steam, gas, and medical gas systems in an active hospital environment
- Read and work from blueprints and mechanical drawings
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot system issues in mechanical rooms, basements, kitchens, and confined spaces
- Report daily on tasks completed, parts used, and items needing follow-up
- Follow all VA, OSHA, and NFPA-99 safety and code requirements
- Work independently while coordinating daily with the VA COR and site supervisor
