About The Position

OCL Group Inc. (OCL) is a privately-held, employee-owned Canadian company providing integrated general contracting and design-build solutions across Western Canada. Since 2009, OCL has served the industrial, heavy civil, oil and gas, and mining industries with reliable and quality construction services. Our Fabrication shop specializes in the design and fabrication of pressure piping, fittings, and vessels, utilizing a wide range of alloy materials and specialized fabrication and welding processes. We combine engineering and manufacturing expertise to deliver customized solutions for our clients.

Requirements

• Registered Journeyman Pipefitter
• Previous experience in a shop or industrial fabrication environment
• CSTS 2020 Fundamentals (contains WHMIS 2015)
• May be required to complete a pre-access drug and alcohol test when working on certain sites
• May need to have certain safety tickets and complete site specific orientations for certain sites
• Class 5 driver’s license with reliable transportation to and from work
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment.
• Read blueprints and specifications.
• Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes.
• Demonstrate knowledge of functional operation of various piping system components by measuring, cutting, threading, grooving of pipes, valves and fittings
• Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair pressurized piping systems
• Hydrotest and install fabricated pipe spools within structural steel modular assemblies, adding designed supports as required
• Use testing equipment effectively to check for system leaks and troubleshoot fitting errors
• Maintain all tools, work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion
• Read and interpret client and company supplied construction fabrication drawings and specifications
• Red-line update drawings to an as-built condition
• Ensure FLRA is completed at the beginning of every job and work is completed safely.
• Complete equipment maintenance in line with OCL Group and industry standards, procedures and practices.
• May perform other related duties assigned
• Maintain shop cleanliness.
