Amrize is looking for a Journeyman Millwright for our Exshaw AB Cement Plant. Millwrights are responsible for ensuring both breakdowns and planned maintenance on a variety of equipment and are completed in an efficient, safe, and environmentally friendly way. This position is offered as a 12-month maternity leave coverage contract with a possibility of extension.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with large industrial equipment
• Hold a valid Millwright Journeyman Red Seal ticket
• Own and maintain a complete set of hand tools, as required by the trade
• Basic computer skills
• Competent operating a motor vehicle
• The capacity to work as part of a team and work independently
• Reliability and dependability
• Successfully passing, physical, d&A and criminal background check is mandatory
• The capacity to work in the Millwright environment (Confined space, working at heights, working in extreme environments – heat, cold dust etc.)

Responsibilities

• Ensuring breakdowns and planned maintenance on a variety of equipment are completed in an efficient, safe, and environmentally friendly way.
• Troubleshooting problems.
• Inspecting and testing equipment and making appropriate decisions.
• Operating light mobile equipment, motorized manlifts and overhead cranes.
• Competent in PPW, to be able to add comments at the end of shift.
• Demonstrating a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.
• Promoting a culture of safety and exhibiting these behaviors.
• Adhering to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
• Being clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests if required to wear a respirator.
