About The Position

The Longview, Washington Nippon Dynawave Liquid Packaging Business has an immediate opening for Journeyman Mechanical Maintenance Technician with a varied background in mechanical skills, including pipe fitting and who have the ability to work in a self-directed work environment where teamwork, quality, and workplace safety are the standards. This includes the ability to interact constructively with team members and customers for mechanical services. The work environment consists of extreme heat, humidity, and noisy conditions at times. Wearing Personal Protective Equipment and knowledge of industrial Lock/Out Tag/Out and other safe work procedures/practices is a requirement. Successful candidates will have a working knowledge of personal computers and associated software.

Requirements

  • Five years of hands on mechanical experience in a continuous process industry or construction trades.
  • Ability to read and work from a blue print without supervision.
  • Own machinist tools up to 6”.
  • Must have lay out skills.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety.
  • Possess demonstrated interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of and troubleshooting of failure modes of all types of rotating assemblies, i.e. pumps, motors, gearboxes, fans, conveyors, etc.
  • Understanding of and ability to perform many levels of repair, situation dependent, to maximize the process reliability of the mill.
  • Working knowledge of computers and associated software.

  • Balancing skills preferred.
  • Predictive/preventive maintenance experience (lubrication skills, vibration tech.).
  • Laser alignment skills.
  • Machinist, pump rebuilds and assembly.
  • Maintenance planning and administration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Interact constructively with team members and customers for mechanical services.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Utilize knowledge of industrial Lock/Out Tag/Out and other safe work procedures/practices.
  • Work with personal computers and associated software.
  • Read and work from a blue print without supervision.
  • Set up and use manual machinery including Lathe, Balancer, Knee mill, Vertical mill, Key seater, Radial drill press, Horizontal band saw, and Horizontal boring mill.
  • Troubleshoot failure modes of all types of rotating assemblies, i.e. pumps, motors, gearboxes, fans, conveyors, etc.
  • Perform various levels of repair to maximize process reliability.
