Application of insulating material to exposed surfaces of structures, such as air ducts, hot and cold pipes, storage tanks, and cold storage rooms. This role actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values,” always representing the Company with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business and Conduct and Ethics.” The position requires performing duties within a precise limit or standard of accuracy (Quality Control) and assisting Craft Helpers in proper fabrication, use, and safe installation of insulating materials. The Journeyman Mechanical Insulator will read piping diagrams and isometric drawings, select required insulation material based on its heat retaining or excluding characteristics, and apply it to various surfaces. The role involves measuring, cutting, fitting, and securing insulation material according to client specifications and standard trade practices. It also requires climbing ladders, scaffolds, and working from elevated or uneven surfaces, working well with supervision, and potentially training and supervising apprentices. Other responsibilities may be required or assigned.
