The Journeyman Meat Cutter is responsible for handling meat and meat products. The Cutter will receive, process, cut, trim, scrape, package, tie, wrap, weigh, price, and label meat products. The Cutter is responsible for setting an example in providing attentive and courteous customer service. This role involves processing, preparing, and packaging meat products in compliance with company policy and Federal, State, and Local regulations regarding Meat operations, safety, and sanitation. The position requires maintaining a clean work area, ensuring proper temperatures are maintained in the cooler, prep area, freezer, and cases, and ensuring they are in working condition. The Cutter must maintain adequate meat supplies and proper case conditions, including cleaning, stocking, straightening, and rotating product. The role also involves achieving financial goals such as sales and gross profit maximization, as well as minimization of shrink and supply expense. Additionally, the Journeyman Meat Cutter will direct subordinates in implementing a plan of action and goal attainment, promote sales through courteous and friendly customer service, and minimize shrink through proper handling and storing of product. Support to area stores may be required when staff is absent.
