About The Position
The Journeyman Lineman is a full-time, hourly position in the Electric Division, represented by the Bowling Green Municipal Employee’s Association union. The role is responsible for constructing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all parts of the City’s electrical system. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a Lineman apprenticeship program.
- Commercial Class A driver’s license.
- Three to five years of relevant experience providing the skills needed to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Ability to work outdoors at elevated heights, in all weather conditions, and in close proximity to electrical hazards.

- Maintain service lines.
- Analyze and repair outage situations.
- Connect new customers to power.
- Maintain street lights.
- Communicate with the public.
