About The Position

Responsible for maintaining and repairing overhead and underground electric transmission, distribution, and substation systems, as well as related work. Works directly under the crew Foreman or Superintendent. Travel is required. The work includes exposure to occasional extreme cold and heat, humidity, wet conditions, noise, hazards, and vibration. Employment is contingent on passing a pre-employment background investigation and drug test.

Requirements

Completed an accredited apprenticeship program.
Held the position of journeyman lineman for a minimum of 5 years.
Journeyman Lineman Card or verifiable work experience.
Willingness to travel.
Ability to perform the physical activities described, including occasional carrying, climbing, crouching, grasping, gripping, handling, kneeling, pinching, pulling, pushing, lifting, reaching, and stooping; frequent standing and walking; and constant reading, vision, repetitive motions, and sitting.
Pass a pre-employment background investigation and drug test.

Nice To Haves

Valid CDL license with an excellent driving record is preferred.

Responsibilities

Construct and install overhead and underground distribution lines.
Operate heavy and light equipment, including digger derricks, aerial lift devices, and backhoes, and use tools of the trade.
Dig holes and trenches, set and climb poles, string wire, place equipment, and test systems.
Perform sticking and gloving work.
Locate underground cable at customers’ request.
Perform work on energized and de-energized systems.
Participate in the instruction and development of Apprentice Linemen.
Participate in safety meetings and follow safety standards.
Perform after-hours duties as required.
Work scheduled and unscheduled overtime as needed or required.
Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Travel as required.
