About The Position

PacifiCorp is seeking customer-centric candidates to grow and sustain our commitment to a culture of customer service excellence, environmental sustainability, inclusion and belonging. As a Journeyman Lineman Troubleshooter, you'll work effectively with customers and (a) construct and maintain distribution lines, service street lights, transformers, and related equipment, (b) install and remove meters, (c) read and change charts on all types and sizes of meters, (d) investigate and handle customer service complaints, including those involving radio interference, and (e) collect delinquent accounts. In addition, the following Lineman duties are also a part of the position expectations: Install, maintain and repair all transmission and distribution electrical systems and associated equipment, both overhead and underground, while utilizing line trucks, aerial boom lifts and wire pulling equipment. Maintenance of lines and services will require pole climbing, working out of truck mounted bucket lift to construct, repair or maintain line equipment or string, splice and sag wire on live or dead circuits. Operates switches, cutouts and uses grounding devices to de-energize lines and equipment. You may train and direct the work of a trainee in the trade.

Requirements

  • Completion of a formal training program for a Journeyman Lineman
  • Must meet examining board review of skills and experience
  • Journeyman Lineman certification or testing through Local 57
  • Must hold a CDL license or a good driving record in order to obtain one
  • 4+ years of experience as a Journeymen Lineman in a rural environment
  • 2+ years’ experience as a Journeyman Serviceman
