About The Position

The Part-Time EPR Technician is responsible for creating and processing ads, adjusting editorial and advertising images and processing commercial magazine pages. The Pre-Press Technician is also responsible for analyzing art in order to determine the correct application needed for optimum output quality as well as manipulating images so that the best product can be produced. The job requires multi-tasking in a deadline driven environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years in a Newspaper production environment required
  • Must be knowledgeable with the following software: Cumulus, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Mac, Windows 10 and SCS Track.
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to troubleshooting ads on deadline and meet tight deadlines
  • Skilled at manipulating scanned images

Nice To Haves

  • College design degree a plus
  • Knowledge of wide format printing and cutting a plus

Responsibilities

  • Extensive customer service with both internal and external customers
  • Processing incoming remote ads and toning images
  • Troubleshooting ad problems
  • Providing Quality Assurance Checks for all work performed
  • Processing Magazine and Commercial Print Pages
  • Meeting Aggressive Deadlines in a Production environment
