Journeyman Electrician
About The Position
NHI Commercial is seeking a skilled and dependable Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in multi-family housing and commercial environments while ensuring all work meets code requirements and safety standards. Most of the projects that are performed by NHI Commercial are directly related to multi-family housing. This means that in many cases, projects are performed within occupied units and communities, and it is the expectation of NHI Commercial that all employees act with a high level of professionalism.
Requirements
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license
- 3+ years of commercial electrical experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and safety procedures
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems in multi-family housing and commercial buildings
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Install conduit (EMT, PVC, rigid), wiring, panels, and fixtures
- Perform electrical upgrades, repairs, and preventative maintenance
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes
- Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and other trades
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Train and mentor apprentices when needed
- Accurately document work performed and materials used
