Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program required.
  • Journeyman Electrician License
  • NFPA 70E Training
  • Arc Flash Safety Certification
  • First Aid/CPR
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
  • Ability to obtain Forklift and aerial lift certification
  • Journeyman Electrician License required
  • Minimum 4 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience.
  • Working knowledge of computers and MS Office software.

  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including arc flash PPE and respirators when required.
  • Ability to respond to emergency maintenance calls and work overtime or rotating schedules as needed.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in order to meet established deadlines.
  • Work as a team and/or independently.
  • Perform tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Nice To Haves

  • Chemical manufacturing, semiconductor, food processing, pulp & paper, mining, refinery, or heavy industrial experience preferred.
  • Programming experience with PLCs is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems up to plant operating voltages.
  • Diagnose electrical failures using schematics, testing equipment, PLC diagnostics, and electrical meters.
  • Repair motors, motor control centers (MCCs), transformers, disconnects, switchgear, VFDs, lighting systems, and electrical distribution equipment.
  • Perform preventive and predictive electrical maintenance to maximize equipment reliability.
  • Replace defective electrical components while minimizing production downtime.
  • Perform emergency electrical repairs during equipment failures.
  • Install new electrical equipment and power distribution for manufacturing expansions and capital projects.
  • Interpret one-line drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Assist Engineering with equipment upgrades, process improvements, and commissioning of new systems.
  • Verify installations meet electrical codes, plant standards, and engineering specifications.
  • Support contractors during electrical construction activities.
  • Perform all work in accordance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, NEC, company safety policies, and applicable environmental regulations.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, hot work, and permit-required safety procedures.
  • Inspect electrical equipment for hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in electrical rooms, substations, and work areas.
  • Participate in safety meetings, incident investigations, and continuous safety improvement initiatives.
  • Complete scheduled preventive maintenance activities using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Document repairs, inspections, labor hours, and equipment history accurately.
  • Maintain inventory of electrical spare parts and recommend replenishment as needed.
  • Assist in developing preventive maintenance procedures and equipment standards.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Instrumentation, Reliability, and Engineering teams to improve equipment performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve electrical system reliability, energy efficiency, and maintainability.
  • Participate in root cause failure analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Mentor apprentices and less experienced maintenance personnel.
  • Support cross-functional maintenance activities during outages and shutdowns.
  • Uphold all MLI policies and “MLI Code of Conduct.”
  • Strict compliance with Environmental and Safety regulations.
  • Compliance and individual accountability with the MLI Quality System and ISO Registration is required.
