Requirements

  • Must be a Certified Journeyman Electrician.
  • Must be local to the Fort St. John and the surrounding area or willing to relocate.
  • Valid Class 5 license with a clean driver abstract.
  • Ability to work in various working conditions ranging from outdoors to indoors in a variety of weather conditions and working from heights as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid H2S, First Aid, OSSA Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform, CSO, and CSTS an asset.
  • Previous experience in the industrial or commercial construction settings is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Install cable tray systems, supports, conduit, and associated electrical infrastructure.
  • Cut, thread, bend, and install EMT, rigid, PVC-coated, and other conduit systems.
  • Install and commission electrical equipment including MCCs, switchgear, transformers, VFDs, batteries, solar power systems, heat trace systems, motors, and associated control equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, schematics, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and applicable electrical code requirements.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting on power, control, and instrumentation systems using sound electrical theory and diagnostic techniques.
  • Install, wire, and troubleshoot AC and DC electrical systems, including three-phase power distribution, transformers, motor controls, PLC I/O, fire alarm systems, and industrial control circuits.
  • Perform electrical testing including continuity, insulation resistance (megger), voltage, current, resistance (ohms), and functional verification of electrical equipment.
  • Mentor, coach, and support apprentices by promoting safe work practices and assisting with technical development.
