About The Position

GrizzlyTrek is seeking one Journeyman Electrician to join our valued client's team in Chetwynd, British Columbia. This is a full-time permanent position supporting oil and gas operations in the region. Candidates who hold instrumentation experience or a dual ticket (electrician and instrumentation) will be given strong preference, as the work involves a steady blend of electrical and instrumentation activities common in upstream oil and gas environments. The successful candidate must reside in the Chetwynd, British Columbia area and bring practical, field-tested experience with oil and gas calibration and pumping oil systems. This role offers long-term stability, hands-on technical work, and the opportunity to grow with a respected operator in northeastern BC.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Electrician ticket (required)
  • Hands-on experience with oil and gas calibration
  • Demonstrated experience with pumping oil systems
  • Current H2S Alive certification
  • Current Standard First Aid certification
  • Current Fall Arrest certification
  • Must reside in the Chetwynd, British Columbia area
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and dependable attendance

Nice To Haves

  • Instrumentation certificate (Journeyman Instrumentation Technician) or equivalent field experience
  • Dual ticket holder (Electrician and Instrumentation)
  • Previous experience in upstream oil and gas operations
  • Familiarity with control systems, transmitters, and metering equipment

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on oil and gas production equipment
  • Conduct calibration of instrumentation and metering equipment in accordance with industry and client standards
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair pumping oil systems and associated electrical infrastructure
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, loop drawings, and technical documentation
  • Carry out preventive and predictive maintenance on field equipment
  • Accurately document maintenance activities, calibration records, and work orders
  • Work safely in accordance with site, client, and provincial regulations
  • Participate in toolbox meetings, hazard assessments, and ongoing safety programs
  • Support shutdowns, turnarounds, and project work as required
