About The Position

This position is a component of the Electrical and Instrumentation Division of BLS Electrical (BLSE) and reports directly to the Crew Foreman. The Journeyman Electrician will provide a full range of responsibilities that include but are not limited to installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in a construction environment. The role involves continually participating in ongoing efforts to enhance customer satisfaction, company profit, and personal job mastery. All jobs shall be conducted in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED or higher level; Electrical schooling preferred.
Four (4) years electrical experience in a construction environment.
Valid Drivers License with safe driving record
Electrical Journeyman's license for state of work
Able to communicate effectively (ie reading, writing, speaking) in the English Language
Must display the following characteristics: Honest, Professional, Competent, Organized, Attention to Detail, Dependable, Thorough, Team Oriented, Safety Conscious and have a Strong work ethic.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Competent documentation skills
Able to work in both commercial and industrial environments.

Responsibilities

Define and oversee project scope and deliverables while managing the constraints.
Create clear and attainable project objectives and directly oversee project quality.
Plan, execute, and finalize projects according to contractual agreements and within budget.
Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones.
Ensure the implementation, communication, and endorsement of the health and safety policy.
Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other applicable regulations.
Always demonstrate a high personal example of health and safety standards and in all places.
Be familiar with the provisions of the OSHA and MSHA Health and Safety Acts, federal and state regulations as they apply to work areas under your control.
Increase job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical and regulation publications, as applicable.
Perform any other duties or assignments as directed by BLSE Management.
Mentor Apprentices from beginning to end of assignment to ensure quality work and facilitate learning.
Use appropriate hand tools, power tools and testing equipment to properly complete a job.
Install, connect, test, and maintain electrical systems.
Conduct jobs in accordance with relevant codes and site-specific procedures while following applicable safety procedures.
