About The Position

We are looking for an experienced Journeyman Electrician to undertake a variety of tasks relating to setting up and maintaining electrical infrastructure. Your job will involve installing electrical wiring to manufacturing lines and equipment, troubleshooting premises wiring, assisting the controls team with installations, and maintaining the facilities lighting and HVAC circuitry. Due to the high amount of risk pertaining to this job, electricians must be first and foremost responsible individuals with great attention to safety precautions. The ideal candidate must also be experienced in different kinds of electrical devices and systems.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician
  • Experience in industrial and commercial electrical systems and installations.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures, legal regulations, the NEC, NFPA 70E, and guidelines.
  • Excellent critical thinking problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent physical condition lift 50 pounds and not be afraid of heights.
  • Willing to work weekends and long shifts.
  • Ability to install a variety of raceways including conduit, wire way, and cable tray.
  • Inspect and test components of electrical systems, including transformers, drives, motor starters, panel boards, and switch gear.
  • Needs to be able to read control schematics and one-line diagrams.
  • Own a Wisconsin Journeyman license or be close to getting one.
  • Completed an accredited electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Execute plans of electrical wiring for lighting, HVAC controls and power, power distribution and manufacturing equipment.
  • Install electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment for alarm and other systems.
  • Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components.
  • Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them.
  • Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and completing preventive maintenance work.
  • Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair damaged units to OEM standards.
  • Help maintain a 4160-volt power distribution system.
  • Work overtime and weekends for scheduled electrical shutdowns to perform cleaning and testing on equipment and installing distribution equipment.
  • Complete work orders and record material utilized on jobs.
  • Willing to cross train and help mechanics or projects team members if needed.
