About The Position

Southwest Electrical Contracting Services (SWECS) is seeking experienced Journeyman Electricians with 5 or more years of industrial electrical experience to join our team. Candidates must have a strong background working in industrial facilities such as data centers, refineries, manufacturing plants, power generation facilities, or similar heavy industrial environments. The ideal candidate is safety-driven, self-motivated, and capable of leading crews while delivering high-quality electrical installations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industrial electrical experience required.
  • Current Texas Journeyman Electrician License (TDLR) required.
  • Experience pulling and installing 750 MCM cable and other large feeder conductors.
  • Experience installing and terminating switchgear, transformers, MCCs, panels, and industrial equipment.
  • Experience working in industrial facilities such as data centers, refineries, manufacturing plants, petrochemical plants, or power generation facilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of NEC and industrial electrical installation practices.
  • Ability to lead crews and complete projects safely and efficiently.
  • Must qualify to drive a company vehicle.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install ½"–2" EMT, IMC, Rigid, and PVC conduit systems.
  • Pull and install feeders, including 750 MCM cable and other large conductors.
  • Install and terminate power distribution equipment, switchgear, panels, transformers, and motor control equipment.
  • Install cable tray, supports, conduit racks, and electrical raceway systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, one-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and specifications.
  • Install, terminate, and troubleshoot power, lighting, and control systems.
  • Perform equipment installation and electrical startup support.
  • Understand and apply the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of industrial electrical materials, controls, and installation practices.
  • Maintain high-quality workmanship while meeting project schedules.
  • Work independently after receiving direction from a supervisor.
  • Lead and mentor apprentices and less experienced electricians.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping and follow all company and customer safety requirements.
  • Demonstrate strong time management, reliability, and professionalism.
