The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within the plant to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This role supports production by minimizing downtime through timely diagnostics and repairs, while adhering to all applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies. Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, the Journeyman Electrician performs preventative and corrective maintenance on a wide range of equipment, including motors, control panels, conveyors, PLC systems, and automated machinery. The position requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. The Journeyman Electrician collaborates closely with maintenance and operations teams to optimize equipment performance, implement improvements, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This role may also assist in new equipment installations, upgrades, and project work. Safety is a top priority; therefore, the incumbent must consistently follow lockout/tagout procedures, electrical safety regulations, and maintain a strong awareness of hazard prevention. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or as part of a team in a manufacturing environment.
