The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for performing electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work related to all electrical systems including fire alarm, emergency lighting, and security systems. This position has technical expertise in both low-voltage and high-voltage electrical systems, ensuring all work is performed safely and in compliance with applicable codes and standards. This position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.

Requirements

Must have a 309A Electrician Construction & Maintenance License.
Prior experience working with commercial, residential, and industrial electrical systems.
Valid G Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Ability to travel occasionally outside the assigned regional territory.
Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
Effective time management, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Nice To Haves

Preferred experience with fire alarm, emergency lighting, and security systems.

Responsibilities

Install conduit (EMT, rigid, etc.) and wiring on both surface and concealed applications.
Perform installations, repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance of all electrical systems, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, and security systems.
Ensure all electrical work complies with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC) and relevant CAN/ULC standards.
Interpret and read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements.
Provide guidance and training to new or junior employees in accordance with company standards.
Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and materials used.
Adhere to all safety codes, building regulations, and company policies.
Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned by your manager.
