About The Position

The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and industrial equipment within a fast-paced frozen food manufacturing facility. This role plays a key part in supporting production uptime, food safety, and operational efficiency by ensuring electrical systems and controls operate safely and reliably. The ideal candidate brings extensive hands-on electrical maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment and is comfortable working independently in a high-volume operation.

Requirements

  • Valid Journeyman Electrician license required.
  • 10+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience within food manufacturing, frozen food, beverage, dairy, or other CPG manufacturing environments required.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motor controls, PLCs, VFDs, automation systems, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience working with 480V 3-phase electrical systems and industrial production equipment required.
  • Ability to travel between and support multiple production facilities as needed.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA, NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout, and electrical safety procedures.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in cold, refrigerated, and freezer environments.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred; technical school certification or associate degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems, production equipment, motors, drives, control panels, and automation systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on facility electrical systems and manufacturing equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control-related issues to minimize production downtime.
  • Install, test, and repair wiring, conduit, breakers, sensors, VFDs, PLC-connected equipment, and related electrical components.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, ladder logic, and technical manuals
  • Support equipment installations, system upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
  • Respond quickly to equipment failures and emergency maintenance situations to support uninterrupted plant operations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation, work orders, and repair records within all systems.
  • Partner with production, sanitation, quality, and engineering teams to support operational goals and food safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all GMP, SQF, HACCP, OSHA, and company safety standards.
  • Perform electrical work in refrigerated, freezer, and production environments as needed.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and flexible scheduling to support plant operations.
  • Travel between and support multiple production facilities as needed, applying technical expertise to improve processes, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement across both Mariposa and Imperial.
  • Other duties as assigned or necessary.

  • Base Pay Rate: $50.00- $60.00 + Benefits
