About The Position

Weyerhaeuser's (Engineered Wood Products) Parallam® manufacturing Plant, located on Annacis Island (Delta), British Columbia, is currently seeking Journeyman Electrician. Our plant manufactures the high strength engineered wood product Parallam® and is a participative management team concept operation. This position - a full-time hourly role - is part of the Maintenance team and will report to the Electrical Supervisor. In this role, you will undertake work that ranges from trouble shooting to general preventative maintenance, including general equipment repairs as well as some project-related work. The standard schedule for this role includes 8-hour/day, 5 days/week or 12-hour/shift with 3-week rotation that averages 40 hours/week under current operating posture. The rotational shifts may consist of both day shifts (5:30 am to 5:30 pm) and night shifts (5:30 pm to 5:30 am), including a scheduled Saturday shift.

Requirements

3+ years of experience, (and current certification) as BC Journeyman Electrician (or equivalent experience while possessing an interprovincial red seal)
3+ years of experience in an industrial maintenance setting
Demonstrated ability to follow safe work practices and procedures.
Experience on PLC equipment (preferably Allen Bradley – Control Logix and PLC 5)
Variable speed drive experience – preferably Allen Bradley
Exposure to arc flash safety protocols
Experience with modern process instrumentation
General electrical construction knowledge and experience
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and communication skills
Well-developed planning and organizational abilities
Willingness and ability to work alternate shifts (12-hour shifts; days/nights and weekends) and be flexible with short-term scheduling variations
Commitment to learning new systems and equipment.
Natural self-starter.
Ability and desire to see tasks through to completion.
