About The Position

Commercial Comm and Electric is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment within a high-tech semiconductor manufacturing facility. This role is crucial for supporting critical facility infrastructure and production operations, demanding a high level of electrical reliability, safety, cleanliness, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial or industrial electrical experience and be comfortable working in a highly regulated, fast-paced semiconductor environment. The Journeyman Electrician must be capable of working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, adhering strictly to site, safety, cleanroom, and contamination-control procedures.

Requirements

  • Completion of a certified electrical apprenticeship program or a minimum of four years of commercial/industrial electrical experience.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical systems and the NEC.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, one-line diagrams, schematics, and electrical equipment documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards, electrical safety, lockout/tagout, arc-flash safety, and construction safety practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, high-reliability environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with facility engineering, operations, contractors, and other skilled trades.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.

  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel between jobsites when required.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform frequent walking, climbing stairs, bending, kneeling, and navigating active construction or industrial environments while wearing required PPE.
  • Ability to work in cleanroom/controlled environments and comply with required gowning and PPE procedures.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including occasional nights, weekends, overtime, or shutdowns when required by facility operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman Electrician license or certification preferred where applicable.
  • Previous experience in semiconductor manufacturing, high-tech manufacturing, data centers, industrial facilities, hospitals, or other mission-critical environments is preferred.
  • Experience working in cleanrooms or controlled environments is highly desirable.
  • Experience with critical electrical distribution and facility infrastructure is preferred.
  • Understanding of cleanroom, contamination-control, ESD, and semiconductor facility requirements is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment supporting semiconductor manufacturing and facility operations.
  • Install and maintain electrical distribution equipment, including switchgear, transformers, panelboards, disconnects, MCCs, motors, motor controls, and related equipment.
  • Bend, install, and terminate EMT, rigid, PVC, and other approved conduit systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, one-line diagrams, schematics, equipment drawings, and construction documents.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment to identify root causes and implement safe, effective solutions while minimizing facility or production downtime.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and critical facility infrastructure.
  • Install electrical systems in accordance with NEC requirements, OSHA standards, project specifications, and semiconductor facility requirements.
  • Follow all site-specific safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, arc-flash requirements, energized-work procedures, PPE requirements, and other critical safety protocols.
  • Work within cleanrooms and controlled environments while following gowning, contamination-control, ESD, and cleanliness requirements.
  • Coordinate electrical work with facility engineers, equipment engineers, controls technicians, mechanical trades, general contractors, and other site personnel.
  • Plan and execute electrical work while minimizing disruption to ongoing semiconductor manufacturing operations.
  • Perform electrical inspections, testing, and commissioning activities as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, repairs, installations, and work performed.
  • Complete work orders and required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Identify potential electrical, safety, and reliability issues and communicate them to supervision or site management.
  • Train and mentor apprentices and less-experienced electricians.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
  • Promote a safety-first culture and maintain strict compliance with all facility and company policies.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and maintain positive working relationships with customers, contractors, facility personnel, and other trades.
