About The Position

Able to perform all tasks related to installing, maintaining, and repairing St. John’s electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems. Able to read technical diagrams, blueprints, and perform general electrical maintenance. Aid in inspecting transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components throughout the facilities in order to continue ongoing high quality and safety for patients, employees, and visitors. Delivers services according to the Scope of Service for Maintenance department. Adheres to and practices the St. John’s Corporate Compliance Program and participates in Performance Improvement activities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Registered Journeyman Electrician through the State of Wyoming, or reciprocal state.
  • Four years of electrical work or suitable equivalent experience.
  • Ability to take direction and work independently.
  • Knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Wyoming Journeyman Electrician License.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • 90% of the time standing and walking.
  • Intermittent sitting.
  • Ability to bend, twist, stoop, reach above shoulders, push, pull.

  • Hospital or healthcare facility maintenance and electrical construction work.

Responsibilities

  • Able to perform or plan out electrical projects, including emergency jobs or special projects.
  • Diagnosis and correction of problems with equipment and systems, particularly electrical needs, but also other maintenance-related tasks.
  • Knowledge of conduit bending, half inch to inch and a half, EMT, new construction, ruff installation and hanging and changing fixtures.
  • Troubleshooting of lighting: florescent, LED, incandescent systems. Maintaining light bulb inventory.
  • Troubleshooting of electrical systems throughout the hospital. Able to solve complex electrical problems without assistance from others.
  • Able to work closely with other electrician employees.
  • Completes and documents preventative maintenance work orders and work requests from St. John’s Staff in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintains high level of Customer Service.
  • Maintains inventory of appropriate parts and equipment for proper maintenance of St. John’s equipment and systems.
  • Considers costs and future efficiency when making purchases.
  • Responds within a proper time frame to On-Call pages following proper rotation requirements and procedures.
  • Assists St. John’s maintenance department in meeting its annual goals of financial responsibility and customer satisfaction.
  • Follows St. John’s Performance Improvement model to solve problems.
  • Uses safe work practices and follows the Department’s Safety Policies.
  • Attends mandatory in-service and demonstrates proper equipment operations.
