About The Position

As a 2nd Shift Electrician at JLL, you will play a critical role in maintaining the electrical infrastructure of an automotive production facility, ensuring uninterrupted operations that directly support our client's manufacturing goals. This position requires a skilled journeyman electrician who can independently troubleshoot, repair, and maintain high- and low-voltage electrical systems in a fast-paced industrial environment. Your expertise in electrical services, equipment installation, and NFPA 70E compliance will be essential in maintaining safe, efficient facility operations. Working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, you will serve as a key technical resource responsible for preventing downtime and ensuring all electrical systems meet safety and operational standards that enable our client's business success.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • State of Michigan or UAW Journeyman's Card (or equivalent Journeyman Electrical License)
  • Valid state driver's license in good standing
  • Minimum 2 years of electrical trade experience
  • Solid understanding of NFPA 70E standards and ability to work on energized equipment with proper Arc Flash PPE
  • Physical ability to perform activities such as bending, standing, climbing, and walking, and to safely use manual and power tools common in building maintenance
  • Ability to understand and utilize Proper Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary to perform specific functions safely

Nice To Haves

  • Trade license (in addition to journeyman's card)
  • CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and/or database experience
  • Superior customer service skills with ability to maintain professionalism in stressful situations
  • Strong organizational skills and collaborative working style
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently without direct supervision with exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience planning and managing work under time constraints
  • Availability for call-in work and flexibility to perform other duties as required

Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and alter electrical services, equipment, and controls using approved and properly sized wire, conduit, raceways, and equipment
  • Work with high-voltage and low-voltage systems to diagnose problems and execute repairs in accordance with NFPA 70E standards, utilizing appropriate Arc Flash PPE
  • Perform electrical work both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions, maintaining safety protocols at all times
  • Maintain work area and equipment in safe, efficient, and clean operating condition while strictly adhering to all safety rules and regulations
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and test instruments commonly used in the electrical trade, ensuring all equipment is maintained and returned in good condition
  • Report equipment needing repair and any unsafe situations or conditions to supervisor immediately
  • Assist with duties of other trades as required and collaborate with facility team to support overall operational needs
