Supports the 153d Airlift Wing’s facilities, including 17 main habitable buildings totaling 400,000 square feet of heated space. The role involves maintaining, repairing, inspecting, and upgrading electrical distribution, fire alarm, and fire suppression systems to provide critical protection of C-130 aircraft and building occupants. This position requires knowledge of electrical code, building code, and safe work practices. The incumbent will also be responsible for installing new power and lighting circuits, generator and automatic switchgear systems, and any other necessary electrical systems. This includes calculating, redesigning, and reconfiguring areas to suit new occupant demands, estimating time and materials, and monitoring, programming, and maintaining fire alarm systems. Troubleshooting fire alarm systems, maintaining lightning protection systems (LPS), and reviewing electrical projects, blueprints, and submittals are also key functions. The role involves working with engineers and contractors, assisting other trades, and providing technical expertise. A security clearance must be acquired and maintained. Participation in snow removal as a member of the snow team is required. Computer knowledge including iEMS, Builder, Word, Excel, time sheets, and ordering parts is necessary.
