About The Position

The Journeyman Electrician (Maintenance/Facilities) is primarily responsible for electrical work and supervision in the commercial field for our growing electrical division. They will work under supervision of the Operations Supervisor and should have an extensive understanding of the importance of general construction and electrical safety procedures. IREN’s Journeyman Electrician should have substantial knowledge of electrical circuits, and comprehension of electrical assessments, repairs, and installs for industrial construction projects.

Requirements

  • Three + years experience.
  • Exceptional supervisory and communication competence.
  • Attention to detail and ability to convey information accurately to managers, peers, customers, subcontractors, etc.
  • Proficiency with local codes and the National Electrical Code.
  • Experience reading mechanical and electrical plans and blueprints.
  • Current driver license.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Journeyman Electrician in the state of Texas or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
  • Experience in Maintenance and Facilities
  • Comfortable with electrical testing equipment.
  • Must have reliable transportation as travel is required.
  • Ability to maintain safe working environment by administering and adhering to Company safety protocol and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Ability to work and delegate work based off blueprints, charts, tables, work orders, and verbal instruction and organize assigned work from start to finish.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assembly, installation, maintenance and testing of electrical equipment and wiring systems.
  • Read blueprints and electrical drawings and install as specified.
  • Assist in terminating electrical panes, set fixtures, outlets, and various electrical devices.
  • Perform routine maintenance on electrical wiring and systems.
  • Determines the steps necessary to assess an electrical situation using testing devices, blueprints, and maps.
  • Follows established safety practices and procedures.
  • Supervise all activities of electricians and apprentices.
