We are a growing organization seeking a talented Journeymen Electricain to join our team as a pivotal member here at PBF Energy. This role is located at Torrance Refining Company in Torrance, CA. Job Summary The Electrician is responsible for the following: Installing and maintaining wiring, control, and lighting systems Inspecting electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers Identifying electrical problems with a variety of testing devices Repairing or replacing wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools for the Northern Area

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Electrical related experience
  • Journeyman Level Electrician
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older and hold a valid driver's license
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Associate's trade school degree in Electrical Technology OR five (5) years equivalent experience in a refinery, or industrial facilities
  • Ability to work while donned in a variety of Personal Protective Equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and shop or vendor drawings
  • Ability to climb, bend, lift and perform a wide range of physical activities in all weather conditions
  • Willing and able to work overtime, various shifts, and weekends and holidays as required
  • Ability to work alone as well as function as a team member
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written
  • Must be self- motivated with willing to acquire and utilize new and/or additional skills
  • Must be able to work in inclement weather at times

Nice To Haves

  • California state electrical license preferred

Responsibilities

  • Applies knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), state codes, and local codes to daily work
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the safe operation of power tools and test equipment
  • Reads, writes, and understands electrical blueprint and wiring diagrams
  • Troubleshoots and repairs substation switchgear, Motor Control Center (MCC), motors and lights; bending and installing conduits for circuits and controls
  • Pulls wire and connects circuits
  • Reads and interprets schematic drawings (primary and secondary single line drawings)
  • Works with diagnostic and test equipment such as voltmeter, ammeter and megger
  • Demonstrates ability to perform Electrician tasks without direct supervision
  • Demonstrates ability to provide direction to term electrical contractors
  • Understands and demonstrates knowledge of three-phase circuitry
  • Understands and demonstrates knowledge of control circuitry
  • Performs all job-related duties as assigned
