About The Position

Strata Innovative Solutions is seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial electrical work, particularly within oil and gas facilities. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Requirements

  • Valid TX Journeyman Electrician certification
  • 3+ years of industrial electrical experience (oil & gas preferred)
  • Strong understanding of automation and control systems
  • Ability to work in hazardous industrial environments
  • Knowledge of NEC (or applicable electrical code)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to workplace safety
  • Ability to work overtime and travel to job sites as required
  • Frequent use of hand tools, electronic equipment, and machinery is required.
  • Precision and steadiness are essential for handling small components and performing delicate adjustments.
  • Must lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and kneeling periods.
  • Close visual attention is necessary for reading schematics and detailed work on computer screens.
  • Good overall vision, with or without correction, is vital, including accurately distinguishing colors for wiring and safety signals.
  • Adequate hearing is necessary for safety reasons, particularly in environments with machinery and equipment where hearing auditory alarms and signals is crucial.
  • Technicians may need to access various locations within a facility, including climbing ladders, navigating tight spaces, and working at heights or in confined areas.
  • Willingness to work in diverse conditions is necessary, as technicians may be exposed to dust, noise, heat, cold, and outdoor weather conditions.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, ear protection, hard hats, and, in some cases, respirators.
  • Able to drive to customer job sites

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in upstream, midstream, or downstream oil & gas facilities
  • Experience with hazardous location (Class I Div 1 & 2) installations
  • Instrumentation and controls experience
  • OSHA 10/30 or equivalent safety certifications

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial electrical systems
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprints
  • Install and terminate conduit, cable tray, motors, control panels, and instrumentation
  • Work with PLC systems, automation controls, and related components
  • Perform preventative maintenance and diagnostics on industrial equipment
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes and safety standards
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to complete projects efficiently
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed
