About The Position

Weyerhaeuser Company is currently recruiting for a Journeyman Electrician for an immediate opening at our OSB facility located in Edson, AB. We are seeking individuals who are committed to safety, have a positive attitude, excellent work ethic & a desire to work in a manufacturing facility. The rate of pay is $51.97 per hour. Shift Rotations are 12-hour shifts, 4 on/4 off; or, 10-hour shifts, Monday-Thursday, or Tuesday-Friday.

Requirements

  • Must have five (5) years of experience.
  • Experience in Industrial Maintenance.
  • Experience troubleshooting and programming with Allen Bradley PLCs.
  • Experience troubleshooting and programming VFDs (Preferably Allen Bradley).
  • Experience troubleshooting and set-up of DeviceNet and Ethernet/IP networks.
  • Troubleshooting motors and motor controls.
  • Ownership and commitment to safety and risk assessment.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position, candidates must be able to pass drug and alcohol screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Instrumentation Experience (Dual ticket an asset but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment including power distribution and motor control systems (240 – 5KV), PLCs (mostly Allen-Bradley PLC-5s and Controllogix), Motion controllers (mostly Temposonic), Adjustable Frequency drives (A/B-Rockwell PowerFlex) and Process control equipment including HMIs.
  • Provide PLC programming support (troubleshooting and upgrading); run conduit and wire/rewire systems.
  • Assist in performing Millwright work as needed including metal fabrication, mechanical drives repair, preventive maintenance inspections and lubrication
  • Manage the electrical systems in the manufacturing facility.
  • Install, repair, and troubleshoot all electrical systems in the operation.
  • Effectively maintain communications with maintenance personnel and supervisors to safely and efficiently perform mill maintenance duties both reactive and preventive.
  • Assist with basic mechanical maintenance functions as needed.
