About The Position

This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment on heavy civil construction projects, requiring extensive knowledge of electrical systems associated with infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician, preferably in heavy civil, industrial, utility, water/wastewater, or infrastructure construction.
  • Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable regulations.
  • Experience with medium-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Proficiency in electrical testing and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and work in confined spaces when required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment in accordance with applicable codes, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, specifications, and construction drawings.
  • Install conduit, cable trays, underground duct banks, wiring, transformers, switchgear, motor control centers (MCCs), panels, lighting systems, and related electrical equipment.
  • Perform terminations and connections for power, control, and instrumentation systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues using appropriate testing equipment.
  • Coordinate work activities with superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and other trades.
  • Lead and mentor apprentices and less experienced electricians.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and site-specific safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work completed, inspections, and testing activities.
  • Assist with startup, commissioning, and operational testing of electrical systems.
  • Identify and report potential safety hazards, quality concerns, and project issues.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
