About The Position

Gridworks is seeking an Electrician to support critical project needs across our commercial, industrial, and utility-scale renewable energy sites. The Electrician performs electrical installations, ensures NEC compliance, supports field teams, and contributes to safety, quality, and operational excellence throughout project execution. Gridworks is a leading EPC contractor for utility-scale solar and battery storage projects, primarily operating across the Southwest, and is expanding into new regions. With nearly 3 GW of solar and battery energy storage projects, we are well positioned for continued success in the rapidly growing clean energy sector.

Requirements

  • Licensed Electrician required
  • Strong understanding of residential and commercial circuitry.
  • Advanced EMT pipe bending skills (½"–1").
  • Working knowledge of NEC codes; able to interpret blueprints and manufacturer specifications.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work in crawl spaces, attics, and other confined spaces.
  • Comfortable working at heights, including on rooftops.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass background checks and pre-employment/random drug screenings.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Willing and able to travel based on project needs.
  • Ability to safely lift and transport up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs with assistance.
  • Knowledge of underground raceway installation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical installations for commercial and solar projects, including oversight of subcontracted electricians when required.
  • Read and interpret commercial electrical blueprints, plans, and specifications.
  • Execute general electrical work including conduit, wiring, enclosures, switchgear, lighting, service replacements, subpanels, and transformers.
  • Participate in pre-construction planning; evaluate job sites and electrical infrastructure to determine staffing and resource needs.
  • Lead and facilitate code-compliant electrical work throughout project construction.
  • Install, operate, and maintain photovoltaic (PV) systems, inverters, and data acquisition systems (DAS).
  • Test, troubleshoot, and commission solar and electrical systems.
  • Identify and mitigate safety hazards; conduct safety trainings; ensure OSHA compliance.
  • Maintain electrical tools, PPE, and equipment in safe working condition.
  • Work with 600V–1500V systems and medium-voltage equipment as required.
  • Assist with layout, assembly, and mechanical mounting of solar modules, racking systems, and electrical equipment.
  • Perform AC and DC wiring for solar installations.
  • Diagnose and repair solar and electrical system issues; provide on-site troubleshooting.
  • Participate in underground utility installation using hand tools or equipment.
  • Attend trainings, safety meetings, and support field operations beyond electrical work when needed.
