About The Position

The Journeyman Electrician (ASRS Freezer) role, also known as High-Bay Freezer (HBF) Electrical & Instrumentation Technician, is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of all electrical and process control instrumentation within the high-bay freezer and warehouse area. This includes mechanical and general facility maintenance, lubrication, sanitation, troubleshooting, and repair of all equipment. The position requires a full understanding of mechanical equipment operations and the ability to make sound judgments in various situations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Idaho Journeyman Electrician License (Reciprocal licenses accepted)
  • Two years of industrial mechanical experience required
  • Six months of forklift operating experience required
  • Good knowledge of computer systems and other technology
  • MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Must be able to work around and consume products containing soy, wheat, and dairy.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the safe condition of equipment and the facility in accordance with SOPs and Company policies.
  • Installing, operating, and maintaining central process control equipment and instrumentation, including programmable controllers, motor controllers, and wiring, to a high level of reliability.
  • Troubleshooting and performing minor and major repairs on equipment to prevent or minimize downtime.
  • Performing a variety of skilled duties such as painting, carpentry, cement masonry, plumbing, and drywall for facility maintenance and repair.
  • Ensuring proper maintenance of equipment including batteries, forklifts, chargers, pumps, motors, doors, dock levelers, hydraulic systems, and product transport systems according to Company or manufacturer specifications.
  • Disassembling and reassembling equipment throughout the warehouse, including motors, gearboxes, valves, hydraulic systems, couplers, alignment systems, and weighing systems.
  • Performing preventative maintenance on equipment, machinery, and facilities as required by Company and manufacturer standards.
  • Maintaining shop inventories, tools, and equipment.
  • Creating, performing, and completing work orders in the system.
  • Identifying parts needed for work, conducting inventory searches, and locating parts.
  • Documenting, monitoring, maintaining, and assisting with reporting of shift events, logging predictive maintenance data, and assisting with work planning using information systems and productivity software.
  • Maintaining communication with team members and support groups using a participative management style.
  • Assisting with training other plant personnel.
  • Coordinating or scheduling work as required.
  • Handling additional accountabilities as required by management to meet operations standards.
  • Supplying own tools of the trade.
