About The Position

This Journey HVAC Specialist position will provide HVAC services to State buildings located in the Ogden Valley and surrounding areas. The role involves operating and maintaining complex heating and air conditioning systems, troubleshooting and diagnosing problems, making adjustments, repairs, and performing preventative maintenance. Responsibilities also include evacuating and recharging air conditioning systems, installing parts and equipment, building and fabricating equipment, and using a variety of tools and equipment. The specialist will also perform related plumbing, mechanical, painting, and pipe fitting duties, enter and manage data in computer systems, maintain accurate records, and perform general facility maintenance including groundskeeping and snow removal. Additionally, the role involves maintaining building automation/energy management systems and being on-call on a rotating basis.

Requirements

  • A Universal EPA Refrigerant Handling Certification.
  • Experience operating, maintaining, and repairing complex heating and air conditioning systems.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain complex heating and air conditioning systems.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems, make adjustments, repairs and/or perform preventative maintenance.
  • Evacuate and recharge air conditioning systems.
  • Install parts, equipment, lines, hardware or software, etc.
  • Build, fabricate, or repair equipment from verbal instructions, blueprints and/or working drawings.
  • Use and operate a variety of hand tools, electrical, mechanical, and automotive equipment.
  • Perform related plumbing, mechanical, painting and pipe fitting, etc., duties.
  • Enter data into a computer system and retrieve, correct, or delete previously entered data.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs.
  • Perform general facility maintenance including, plumbing, electrical, groundskeeping, & snow removal, etc., as needed.
  • Perform building automation/energy management system maintenance, as needed.
  • Be on-call on a rotating basis.
