The Joint Venture Accountant, working under general supervision, is responsible for conducting and documenting moderately to complex joint venture accounting projects within the Joint Venture Accounting function. The role administers and coordinates the WBS (AFE) workflow for expense and capital projects, and creates and maintains expenditure accounting master data, including Cost Centers, WBS’s, and JIB Division Orders, within the ERP system. The role collaborates with the Operations Accounting team, gathering necessary information for effective joint venture financial management. The role applies GAAP accounting principles to journal entry preparation, reconciliations, and the analysis of financial data, and applies financial and accounting analysis skills to address challenges in joint venture transactions. The role verifies financial transactions within the joint venture comply with COPAS standards, formulates strategic recommendations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the JV Accounting department’s financial operations, and adheres to established control procedures to uphold financial integrity and compliance. The role also conducts in-depth financial analysis specific to the joint venture, providing stakeholders with insights for informed decision-making and strategic planning.
