About The Position

The position of Job Developer reports to the Department of Rehabilitation Services Supervisor, working as part of the multi-disciplinary team to conduct all Pre-Employment, Employment Preparation, Job Development, Placement and follow up support as needed. This role involves providing consumer analysis of strengths and barriers to employment, recommending employment planning and services, procuring community situational assessment sites, and providing support at job interviews. The Job Developer will also attend employee-training seminars, conduct job analysis, develop job duty analysis, and provide professional mentorship to individuals in choosing, obtaining, and retaining employment. Additionally, the role involves developing and implementing goals for integrated community activities and job placements, identifying community resources, contracting for individualized job placements, and monitoring a data collection system for employment services progress. Collaboration with intra-agency teams, Regional Center, and Department of Rehabilitation representatives is expected, along with regular contact with employers to review trainee performance. On-site job coaching and accurate documentation of all hours spent with consumers are crucial. The Job Developer must report any health and safety incidents immediately to the supervisor and perform other duties as requested by management.

Requirements

Some college; Bachelors degree preferred.
Combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the employment standards listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
Reliable transportation and valid insurance.
Access to employment websites and other resources.
Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and persuasively.
Ability to use Smart Phone for ADP, and consistent contact with consumers and vendors.
Ability to use Microsoft programs Word and Excel.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal; strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work remotely with use of company computer, utilizing all expectations of communication (i.e. email, texting, phone calls, Soneto database, etc.).
Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
Ability to be an effective team member.
Understands organization culture and values.

Responsibilities

Provide consumer analysis of strengths and barriers to employment, including social skills, soft skills, cognitive functioning, and work activities.
Give sound recommendations for employment planning and services.
Procure community situational assessment sites based on consumer employment goals.
Provide support at job interviews between consumers and employers.
Attend employee-training seminars at job sites as needed and conduct job analysis for tasks once a consumer starts.
Develop job duty analysis, including hourly/daily/weekly task schedule analysis, task breakdown, and analysis of social and performance skills needed in typical work situations.
Provide professional mentorship while individuals choose, obtain, and retain employment, focusing on identified strengths, abilities, interests, resources, capacities, and informed choice.
Develop and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives related to integrated community activities and job placements for consumers' Individual Support Plan (IPP) or Individual Habilitation Consumer Plan (IHSP).
Develop and identify community resources and contacts to facilitate integrated community-based training in and around job sites.
Contract and develop integrated community job placements that are individualized to match the strengths and weaknesses and the job parameters of the person.
Help organize and monitor a recording system (Data Base) to collect data reflecting the progress of Employment Services for individuals with severe disabilities.
Meet regularly with intra-agency Employment teams, Regional Center (if applicable), and Department of Rehabilitation representatives to discuss potential referrals and job leads.
Contact employers on a regular basis to review individual trainee performance, assistance, and needs as an integral part of each trainee's ongoing support.
Provide on-site job coaching, supporting consumers to facilitate positive working relationships with co-workers, management, and the public.
Accurately document all hours spent with consumers in detailed progress reports.
Ensure that all incidents relating to the health and safety of the consumer are reported to the D.O.R. Services Supervisor immediately and documented properly.
Carry out other duties as requested by the Supported Employment Manager and Director of Program.
